Although, the productivity was low during the stage, the fact is that the subsequent success of the group was based on this initial stage. The lesson that the writer acquired from the experience in the team was that the forming stage was critical as it enhanced the team development (Robbins & Coutler, 2006). The miracle that the team leader used that resulted in subsequent accomplishment of the shared vision and positive synergy along with creativity and innovativeness was due to the fact that the team leader in this stage ensured the sharing of responsibility (Michael, 2007). Each members of the team was encouraged to point out what he or she could do in a unique manner and basing the activities on the specialization the team definitely benefited from the specialization and division of labor. In addition, during the stage different members of the group, although belonging to different cultures were in position to develop rapport and trust because of the open communication channel established by the team leader. Such communication channel essentially provided the structure for the group that was maintain till the very end of the group (Lencoino, 2004). By encouraging open dialogue, the team benefited from better understanding each other and thus a positive motivation to work together was provided (Mullins, 2005).
The second stage through which the team member gone through in the development process was the storming stage when members of the organization started developing relationship with each other and realize some conflicts on different tasks that each members of the organization were assigned (Johnson, 1999). Essentially, different members of the team were presenting their own view at this stage and each member of the team were of the opinion that his or her solution is the best and the alternative he or she is presenting is the best that could better lead towards the accomplishment of group's goals and objectives. The power game that initiated in this stage was better managed by the team leader who instead of encouraging individuals to present individual problem solving approach encourages members of the group to work coherently and jointly towards the accomplishment of group's goals (Tuckman & Jensen, 1977). Essentially the joint problem solving approach resulted in the creation of shared vision for the whole group that foster performance and better motivation and dedication
